COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There was an empty chair at the table Tuesday afternoon for the Branch County Board of Commissioner’s meeting after County Commissioner Leonard Kolcz suffered a stroke last Friday.
Kolcz was stricken a day after helping out with the annual Bronson Community Thanksgiving dinner at Smitty’s Pizza which he started when he owned the Kolcz Funeral Home.
His daughters Hollie Kolcz and Alicia Rissman-Cole posted the following on his Facebook page this past Sunday, “Thanks everyone for the prayers and well wishes. He is doing a little better. He has to take it one day at a time, which he is not liking. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”
During Tuesday’s meeting, Commissioner Terri Norris said she was hoping Kolcz would have a speedy recovery while Commission Chair Ted Gordon said he expects Kolcz to be back soon and that he was in their thoughts.
