QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Will Dunn poured in 31 points as the Quincy Orioles opened their boys basketball 2018-2019 season Wednesday night with a 66-48 home court victory over Marshall Academy.
Quincy built a 38-24 halftime lead and then had to withstand a rally by Marshall Academy in the third when the Orioles were outscored 17-9. Quincy sealed the win with a 20-7 fourth quarter.
Alex Aseltine added 10 points while Caleb McCavit had nine points and dished out seven assists.
—MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL—
The Legg Middle School teams were all beaten by Jackson Northwest Wednesday night. The eighth graders lost 51-21. Chase Sunderland led Legg with six points.
The seventh grade A team was edged 42-41. Zach Coffing led Legg with 14 points while Grant Carter had 11 points and Eddie Pool grabbed seven rebounds.
The seventh grade B team was beaten 47-21. Hugo Mojica had 10 points and five steals while Kaden Voyce had nine points and Rayce Johnson had six rebounds. Connor Friend had three assists.
