COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The holiday season will kick into high gear in Coldwater on Saturday with plenty of activities.
A new event hosted by the Branch Area Lions Club called the “Lights of Love” will take place in the southwest corner of the Four Corners Park in downtown Coldwater starting at 5:30 p.m..
The lights on the Christmas trees that have been sold for $100 apiece will be turned on during the ceremony which will feature the reading of the sponsors names. All proceeds will be directed to the local Lions Club and will be used for the purchase of vision and hearing aids, as well as for the funding of diabetes education and prevention. The honoree or business that sponsors a tree gets their name on it and they get to decorate it.
The trees will be on display through December 25.
The annual Coldwater Christmas Parade will take place Saturday night starting at 7:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “Welcome to Toyland”.
The lineup for the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. with judging at 6:00 p.m..
The parade will once again start on North Hudson and head west on U.S. 12 before ending at Pierson Street.
Other events include Breakfast with Santa at the St. Charles Activities Building from 8:00 a.m.-10 a.m., a Christmas Wassail at the Wing House Museum at 12 noon, the Bethlehem Express at the First Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m., Pancakes with Santa at 4:00 p.m. at the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center, and Sounds of the Season 2018: This Christmastide at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church starting at 7:30 p.m..
