BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Vikings dropped to 0-2 on the young season as the Centreville Bulldogs rallied for a 52-49 victory in Bronson.
Centreville’s Derek Gleaton hit a clutch three point shot with 13 seconds left to put the Bulldogs ahead 50-49. They added a pair of foul shots in the final second for the final margin. The Bulldogs got out to a 14-4 lead after the first quarter but their lead was trimmed to 23-20 at the half.
Bronson used a 21-13 third quarter to take a 41-36 advantage into the final eight minutes before the Bulldogs rallied with a 16-8 fourth quarter. Bronson only shot 31 percent from the floor which included being one of 13 from beyond the arc. Graham Eley led the Vikings with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Union City is now 1-1 after they lost at Olivet 81-48. The Chargers trailed 33-22 at halftime but the Eagles put the game away with a 28-15 third quarter. Olivet also won the J.V. game 77-37.
