COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Just like in the rest of the country, gas prices around Branch County continue to drop. Prices were ranging on Sunday night from between $2.10 and $2.29. Price in Coldwater were ranging from $2.17 to $2.23.
AAA Michigan reports the price drop can be attributed in part to total domestic crude inventories climbing for 10 straight weeks thus sending crude prices lower. Crude prices are at about $50 a barrel of oil. They have not been this low since October of 2017.
AAA Michigan says the average price for gas in Michigan is $2.28 while the national average is $2.47.
But GasBuddy.com analyst Patrick DeHaan said on Twitter last Friday we may see the first price hike in over a month sometime this week. He suggested drivers fill up especially if they were in an area where gas was under $2 a gallon.
