COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Coalition against Domestic and Sexual Violence has been awarded a federal grant to expand its services across the county.
BCCADV Executive Director Kim Hemker announced the funding at this week’s meeting of the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club. Hemker told Rotarians Tuesday that beginning in January 2019, the Coalition will have four new people on staff who will deal exclusively with sexual assault victim services.
According to Hemker, the grant means the additional staff will be available in the outlying communities to offer counsel and guidance in Bronson, Quincy, and Union City along with the other services that are already available in Coldwater.
She said the goal is to have the Coalition make a greater impact and increase its visibility across Branch County, encouraging people to seek out help who might not otherwise be willing to come to the Shelterhouse in Coldwater.
