COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater utilized a strong defense to jump out to a 24-13 halftime advantage and then poured in 22 third quarter points as they defeated the Marshall Redhawks 56-25 on Friday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium. The Lady Cardinals shot 55 percent from the field, including 5 of 5 from the 3-point line to improve their record to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Interstate 8. Carlee Crabtee led all scorers with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Tyler Scheid added 10 points while Emilee Smoker scored nine points to go along with four assists and two blocks. Coldwater travels to Kalamazoo Central on Tuesday.
Quincy won their Big 8 Conference opener and improved to 4-0 with a 44-25 victory at Union City. The Orioles were in control throughout the game as they opened up a 27-14 lead at halftime. Hannah Clark led the Orioles with 15 points while Jessica Holcomb had 10 points, 16 rebounds and four steals. Autumn Carpenter had a double-double for the Chargers with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
And Bronson opened Big 8 Conference play with a home court 56-28 win over Jonesville. The Vikings are now 2-1 overall.
