COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Dozens of kids from the Coldwater School District had an early Merry Christmas visit with Santa Claus yesterday thanks to the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club which held its annual children’s holiday party.
Over 50 boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old enjoyed a pizza luncheon and sang Christmas carols. The highlight of the afternoon was the arrival of Santa, who brought along a big gift bag for each of the youngsters.
The presents included gloves and winter hats along with an assortment of toys. The Rotary Club donated $2,200 this year to fund the party. Meijer added its support by giving $100 and a 10% discount for the toys and merchandise that were purchased for the program. For many of the kids, the gifts each year possibly represent the majority of the presents they’ll be receiving for Christmas.
