BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A number of police agencies are looking for a suspect after the PNC Bank branch on West Chicago Street in downtown Bronson was held up Friday morning.
The robbery was reported at about 9:50 a.m..
First reports indicate the suspect was described as a six foot tall black male in his mid to upper 30s who was wearing a black hat and grey sweatshirt.
The man apparently did not display a weapon, but told people in the bank he had one.
Bronson Police are investigating. They are being assisted by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police. A K-9 was brought in to help with the search.
Bronson school officials took precautionary measures in all of their buildings following the holdup as this was the final day of classes before the Christmas break. Staff members were placed at each door. In addition, students were not allowed to leave their buildings as the schools were declared “closed campuses”. Identifications were also checked on anyone who came into the buildings. Anyone who had to go outside were given an escort
