BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was arraigned on Christmas Eve in Branch County District Court after he was arrested for allegedly firing gunshots in the 100 block of Roosevelt Street in Bronson over the weekend.
32-year-old Starlin DeLeon-Sanchez was formally charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle. Bond was set at $25,000. He is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing January 3 and a preliminary exam in District Court January 10, 2019.
Bronson Police report numerous residents called 911 after hearing multiple gunshots at about 12:49 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police Officer Jody Fuller responded, and according to court documents, he along with the Michigan State Police found almost a dozen spent handgun casings.
His investigation revealed they were fired from a moving vehicle after the suspect had engaged in an argument with a former girlfriend.
The suspect was later found in Coldwater and the handgun was seized.
Court documents indicate DeLeon-Sanchez told investigators he fired at the ground.
Coldwater Police and the Bronson Fire Department also assisted.
