COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – He still needs a cane to walk around and his speech is a bit slurred but Branch County Commissioner Leonard Kolcz returned Wednesday morning as he attended his first meeting since suffering a stroke November 23, 2018.
Kolcz was on hand as he and the other four commissioners were sworn in for two year terms by Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak.
Commissioners also decided to keep Ted Gordon as Board Chair and Terri Norris as Board Vice Chair during their organizational meeting.
Commissioners will continue to meet for the most part on the first and third Thursdays of the month for their work sessions. Regular meetings will still be on the second and fourth Tuesday.
Kolcz continues to rehabilitate from his stroke. He was stricken a day after helping out with the annual Bronson Community Thanksgiving dinner at Smitty’s Pizza, which he started when he owned the Kolcz Funeral Home.
