COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Former Coldwater Mayor Robert “Bob” Eugene Rumsey passed away Friday at the age of 90 at the Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A funeral service for Bob Rumsey will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9th with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Coldwater with Pastor Dave Pierce officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 8th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Besides being Mayor, Rumsey also served on the City Council.
He made numerous contributions to the Coldwater community which included his lengthy membership with the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club. He joined them in 1960 and was honored in 2015 for having a perfect 55 year attendance record.
Rumsey was also a longtime volunteer at the Branch Area Food Pantry. For many years he and his family owned and operated Otto and Sons Sportings Goods in Coldwater.
