COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Thanks to a $14,000 grant from the Michigan Humanities Council, the a museum-quality historical display highlighting the Tibbits Opera House has been created and will be unveiled at a reception Thursday, January 24, 2019 starting at 5:00 p.m..
The display is entitled “A Treasure Reborn: The History of Tibbits Opera House,”. It features the chronological history of Tibbits’ management and architectural changes to the structure since 1882 as well as how the Tibbits’ has been the center of arts and culture for Branch County and the surrounding region.
The community and members of the Tibbits Foundation are invited to join the board of directors for the reception in the downstairs gallery followed by the annual meeting in the auditorium.
The meeting will include a review of the 2017-18 fiscal year, a financial report of the theatre, and highlights for the year ahead.
