COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A site plan review for a 53 space expansion of the parking lot that serves the Dutcher Funeral Home at 440 West Chicago and the nearby event rental facility is scheduled to come before the City of Coldwater Planning Commission Monday evening.
Mark and Kathy Barone from Dutcher Funeral Home have found that their current lot is not big enough to handle the amount of traffic generated by the funeral home and the adjacent former church building that they own.
The Coldwater Zoning Board of Appeals approved three variance requests from Dutcher last June for the parking lot project.
The Barones said in a letter to the Z.B.A. last year that they were being asked to include what they felt were an unreasonable amount of trees, bushes, and islands as part of the parking lot expansion.
There are five contingencies that will need to be met for Planning Commission approval. They include storm water and landscaping management plans that meet city specifications.
