Gertrude N. Stayner, 97, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday,
January 5, 2019 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12,
2019 at 12:00 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Visitation will be held, prior to the
service, beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
Cremation will follow with interment of ashes at Card Cemetery at a
later date.
Gertrude was born November 9, 1921 in Bethel Twp., MI to
Murray and Minnie (Testerman) Lawton. She married Lewis E. Stayner, he preceded
her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Stayner was a dedicated wife, mother and
homemaker. She worked at Federal Mogul and
then independently as a housekeeper. Gert was devout in her faith, belonging to
Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved cats and working crossword, word search and
jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed crocheting and a good game of Dominos. Gert loved
spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren.
Gertrude is survived by her children David (Laura) Stayner
of Battle Creek, William (Vickie) Stayner of Coldwater, Timothy (Donna) Stayner
of Auburn, IN, daughter-in-law Teddy Stayner of Coldwater, her brother Robert
Lawton, sister Arlene Munger both of Coldwater, many grand and great
grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was
preceded in death by her son Daniel Stayner, daughter Sandra Jackman, brothers
Arthur, MJ and Lavern Lawton and her sister Virginia Lawton.
