COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Charges are expected to be filed today in against a man in connection with a reported strong armed robbery early Sunday in Coldwater.
Coldwater City Police were dispatched yesterday to a business on West Pearl Street where the robbery reportedly occurred around 5:15 a.m. City Police were assisted by Michigan State Police, who said troopers and officers witnessed a male suspect running south away from Snyder’s Laundromat. They gave chase on foot and the pursuit led them to an industrial park off of Jay Street.
Police set up a perimeter and an MSP canine trooper was called in to help in the search. According to the State Police, the suspect was located at Poly Green Foam hiding underneath a pile of rubber mats.
Troopers said the man was turned over to Life Care paramedics and later transferred to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, where he was treated for hypothermia and released to the custody of Coldwater City Police.
A Corrections Officer at the Branch County Jail said City Police early this morning brought a 32-year old Coldwater man to the jail where he was booked on unrelated charges from warrants issued last year.
Coldwater Police are expected sometime today to issue a news release with details about Sunday’s reported robbery.
