BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council Monday decided to join Coldwater and many other communities around Michigan in opting out of the newly approved recreational marijuana law until the state sets up regulations. Communities that opt-out can opt-in at anytime if they want to allow businesses that sell recreational marijuana.
The Council also approved the final draft of the Branch County Economic Development and Marketing Strategy. Place and Main Advisors of East Lansing put together the report after they contracted with the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance so that economic development and community marketing strategies could be developed.
Summits were held last summer to help Coldwater, Bronson, Union City and Quincy become more qualified for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Redevelopment Ready Communities program.
