COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education approved a recommendation from Superintendent Terry Boguth during a special meeting Tuesday night that the bids for the Legg Middle School Mechanical Improvements Project be approved.
The board also authorized Owen-Ames-Kimball of Grand Rapids to issue letters of intent to the contractors and suppliers who will be performing the work on the 12 parts of the project.
The work on the project will start in June and will be performed over the next two summers when school is not in session.
Project Manager Tom Stanek from Owen-Ames-Kimball said work in the classroom wings will be done this summer.
Boguth said the work will be finished in time for the start of classes in August.
The board was told the project is under the bond budget by $256,000. The largest contract was awarded to Paul Bengel Company after they bid $2.2 million for mechanical and plumbing work.
