COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a national holiday held on the third Monday each January to celebrate the life of the slain civil rights leader.
Some governmental offices, including the Branch County Courthouse, Bronson City Hall, and the Union City Village Office will be closed Monday. The Burnside Senior Center in Coldwater is also closed Monday.
Others such as Coldwater City Hall and the Quincy Village Office will be open.
United States Postal Offices will be closed, so there will be no mail delivery. Check with your bank ahead of time to see if they will be open or closed Monday.
There will be no classes for students in the Coldwater, Quincy, and Bronson school districts, as staff take part in a professional development day at the Dearth Center in Coldwater. Pansophia Academy, St. Charles Borromeo School, and St. Mary’s Assumption School in Bronson were scheduled to hold regular classes, but all three were closed due to extremely cold temperatures.
Kellogg Community College, including the Grahl Center in Coldwater, will also be closed Monday.
