COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While the heaviest of the snow from Winter Storm Harper hit Branch County overnight, blowing and drifting is expected to be the problem throught the day Saturday as a Winter Storm Warning continues until 4:00 p.m. A total of four to seven inches of snow is expected across the area.
The National Weather Service says the snow will taper off through the day and the winds will die down by this evening, but accumulating snow and blowing snow will impact travel through Saturday afternoon.
Very cold air will arrive Sunday into Monday with sub zero wind chills possible. Lake effect snow showers are possible mainly across northwest Indiana Sunday and Sunday night.
Branch County Road Commission and City of Coldwater Department of Municipal Services crews hit the roads and streets at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, although county snow plows were on the state trunk lines through the night.
