Carol Ruby Corless, 90, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Coldwater,
passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.
Private graveside services will be held at Oak Grove
Cemetery in Coldwater at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher
Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Carol was born on March 5, 1928 to Charles and Daisy
(Wright) Schlatter in Allen County, Indiana. She was a graduate of Coldwater
High School. Carol married Max Corless on January 23, 1947 and he passed away
on June 1, 1997.
Carol worked as a bookkeeper for Provincial House in Portage
and then for Boyer-Dykema-Williams as a manufacturer representative from which
she retired. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coldwater.
Carol is survived by her children; Sue (Jonathan) Stern of
Ann Arbor and Tina (Michael) Smith of Kalamazoo, her grandchildren; Ivan
“Bobby” (Jamie) Mease, Samuel Stern, Anne (Dante) Dunn and Jaxon Smith and her
great granddaughter; Zoe Mease.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband Max, her daughter Toni Mease and son in law Ivan “Bob” Mease, her
grandson Corey Mease, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Humane Society of
Branch County or St. Mark Episcopal Church.
