COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Early Bird Exchange Club continues to make donations of food and clothing for Branch County veterans.
Earlier this month, club members purchased clothes which they delivered to the Branch County Veterans Affairs Office, where local VA Director Charles Scott distributes the items to vets who visit him for assistance. Next month, the Early Bird Club will be presenting Scott’s office with Valentine’s Day food bags which will include a whole chicken roaster along with canned goods.
The VA office in Coldwater has its own food pantry, which soon hopes to have a freezer and refrigerator on location.
Scott spoke at Wednesday’s Early Bird meeting and told the club that the group is the one that benefits his office the most, and he was glad for the chance to tell the Exchange members personally how grateful he was for their help.
