COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For a third straight day, schools across Branch County and much of the state are closed because of snow, bitter cold, and dangerous travel conditions.
The Coldwater, Bronson, Quincy, St. Mary’s Assumption in Bronson, and the Branch Intermediate School Districts are shut down again Wednesday, while Union City, Pansophia Academy, Tekonsha, and St. Charles Borromeo School in Coldwater are shut down through Thursday as temperatures are expected to be close to all time record lows and wind chills are expected to be near 45 degrees below zero.
With classes called off Wednesday, that means most school districts have used up its six cancellation days. Any more time off will have to be made up or the districts would face the loss of state funds, unless a special waiver is issued by the State Department of Education.
