COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Due to the extreme weather conditions Wednesday, all Branch County offices including the Branch County Courthouse will be closed. It’s the second time this week Branch County offices have been forced to shut down because of the weather. County workers were sent home early Monday afternoon because of the snow and ongoing bad conditions on the roads.
Coldwater City Hall, Bronson City Hall, and the village offices in Union and Quincy are also closed Wednesday.
The dangerous wind chills have forced ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to close a number of departments. Its Family Medicine clinics in Coldwater, Bronson, Union City, Quincy and Litchfield will all be closed. Also closed on Wednesday will be the hospital’s Wound Healing Center, Total Rehab, Cardiac Rehab, Cancer Center, Ear, Nose and Throat, Pediatric and Adolescent Center, OB-GYN, General Surgery Office, Sleep Lab, Doctor DeLong’s Office, Telemedicine Clinics, Lobby Gift Shop and Prenatal Classes. There will be reduced staff in the radiology and outpatient labs. Call ahead if you have any questions.
The Branch-Hillsdale-Saint Joseph County Community Health Agency will also be closed Wednesday due to the weather.
Michigan Secretary of State offices across Michigan are also closed Wednesday.
The City of Coldwater will be flirting with an all-time record low Wednesday night/Thursday morning as the low is expected to get down to near 20 degrees below zero. The all-time record low for the City is 23 degrees below zero which was set on January 4, 1981.
