QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Suicide Prevention Coalition hosted the fifth annual “Hoops for Hope” fundraising event on Friday night during the Union City and Quincy girls and boys basketball doubleheader.
All of the donations received during the doubleheader went towards local efforts at preventing suicide in Branch County.
The Branch County Substance Abuse Task Force supported the event due to the correlation between substance abuse disorders and suicide.
Both the Union City and Quincy boys basketball teams wore yellow during warm ups which is the color for suicide prevention,
The Youth Engaged in Prevention Club were also involved in the annual event.
