COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – As the largest fundraiser each year for their Catholic school, the St. Charles Borromeo 20th Annual Mardi Gras Auction this past Saturday ended up a huge success. According to school principal Brenda Mescher, this year’s gross income was $90,741.
Entry tickets sold out, with a capacity crowd this year for the event at the St. Charles Activities Building in Coldwater.
Popular items in the live auction included a Bronze Membership to the Coldwater Golf Course, at $1200, the Knights of Columbus Pheasant Hunt & Dinner at $1300, Fill a Freezer at $1,200, a Grand River Brewery package at $900, Florida condo & Busch Gardens tickets at $1,625, and Father’s Hope Chest coming in to end the night at $2,600.
Class projects in the live auction were once again a big hit with the crowd, including “Running on Coffee & Jesus”, the 5th grade package coming in at $700; “A Year of Adventure, A Year of Laughter, A Year of Memories”, the 1st grade package, coming in at $1050. and Michigan Drinks, coming in at $800.
