BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson High School won a Division Four Team Wrestling District championship Wednesday on their home mat by defeating Reading 60-22 in the semifinals and Colon 52-22 in the finals.
Seven Vikings won two matches. They were Ben Modert (112), Brendan Withington (125), Aricin Smith (135), Craig Tappenden (145), Isaac Tappenden (152), Ruger Ranney (160) and J.C. DePaz (171). The Magi advanced to the finals by defeating Quincy 53-12.
Coldwater lost in the finals of the Sturgis Division Two team districts to Wolverine Conference champion Edwardsburg 39-31 in a back and forth match. Coldwater advanced to the finals with a 82-0 victory over Vicksburg.
Coldwater’s Griffen Olmstead captured his 100th victory with a win at 171 pounds.
