STEVENSVILLE, MI (WTVB) – Six Coldwater High School wrestlers advanced to individual regionals Saturday at Division Two Individual Districts hosted by Stevensville-Lakeshore.
Griffin Olmstead was second at 171 pounds while third place finishes were record by Carter Hoard (140) and Dillon Minton (285). Marshall Hoard (112), Zeke Nowicki (130) and Clark Cole (285) all finished fourth.
Bronson advanced eight wrestlers to the individual regionals including District champions Ben Modert (112) and Ruger Ranney (171) who both recorded personal milestones with their 150th career victories. Modert is trying to win a state championship for a second straight year.
Also advancing for Bronson out of the Division Four Districts hosted by Hudson were Brendan Withington (2nd-125), Issac Tappenden (3rd-152), Justin Blankenship (4th-189), Carson Rose (4th-215), Alex Tyer (3rd-285) and Preston Wronikowski (4th-103).
Union City’s Brayton Mears won the championship at 103 pounds. Three other Chargers advanced to the regionals. They were Bradley Russell (3rd-119), Gannon Haddon-Imhof (4th-160) and Brayton Burgett (2nd-285).
Quincy advanced two to the regionals. Gerl Pish was third at 140 while Chandler Locke was fourth at 171.
Tekonsha’s Rodrigo Barron advanced to the regionals as he was third at 125 pounds.
