COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Rick Grzebik, a Broadcast and Communications Engineering Consultant with Munn-Reese Inc. of Coldwater since 2007, will be honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters next month.
Grzebik, along with retired engineer Gary Harding, are the 2019 recipients of the Carl E. Lee Broadcast Engineering Excellence Awards. The award is named after Carl E. Lee, a prominent Michigan broadcast engineer and station owner, who was known for his innovation and recognition of opportunity.
In addition to his job with Munn-Reese, Grzebik has been the Chief Engineer on a volunteer basis for WSDP, the student radio station for the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools for the past 10 years. He has also helped other educational stations including WBFH in Bloomfield Hills, and the Music Resource Center’s WVQC-LP in Cincinnati.
Prior to Munn-Reese, he worked in Detroit for 13 years as an Engineer for radio groups including ABC/Disney, CBS/Infinity and Viacom. He holds three Associate’s Degrees in Applied Science from Schoolcraft College including CAD/Mechanical Design, General Business and Electronic Technologies, and is a second generation Broadcast Engineer, learning skills from his father Paul who started in the business in 1964.
Grzebik and Harding will be honored March 5, 2019 at the MAB’s “Great Lakes Media Show” in Lansing.
