COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved Tuesday a request from Prosecutor Valerie White to hire a temporary office clerk.
White said during last weeks work session the person they wanted to use is recently retired from the Hillsdale County Prosecutor’s Office and would only work 16 hours a week at $20 an hour until the end of February.
There would be no benefits for the temporary worker. She would also provide training for the new criminal clerk who is scheduled to start Monday.
Commissioners also approved a request to fill the vacant Deputy Juvenile Register position after Brooke Kane accepted a position with the Prosecutors office. They also approved a Friend of the Court request to fill the part time Bench Warrant Deputy position. That person would work no more than 20 hours a week with no benefits.
In other business, Commissioner Don Vrablic was formally named to the new formed Lake George Improvement Board. The Kinderhook Township Board recently passed a resolution establishing the lake board for residents on the Michigan side of Lake George.
