COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A winter that started mellow with only an inch of snow in December has shown its teeth over the last month.
Since January 19 when nearly eight inches of snow fell, it’s been one weather calamity after another.
It’s led to horrible driving conditions, missed school days and residents wondering why in the heck they put up with challenging Michigan winters.
Tuesday’s ice storm was followed by blowing and drifting snow. All of the frozen precipitation led to streets and highways turning into hockey rinks.
Three accidents took place on I-69 Wednesday morning between the Tekonsha exit and mile marker 43.
It took nearly a couple of hours to clear the crash near Tekonsha.
But there maybe relief on the way. Outside of some snow Sunday, the extended forecast is calling for the weather to calm down over the next week. The forecast today is for cloudy skies with some afernoon rain and high temperatures in the low 40’s.
