COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school gymnastics, it was a sweet win on Valentine’s Day for the Lady Cardinals. Coldwater hosted the Tecumseh Indians for their final South Central Gymnastics League matchup of the regular season. The home team bested Tecumseh by a score of 131.275 to 125.875.
Coldwater is now 6-1 in the league and will host the conference championships Saturday at 9:30 a.m.in the auxiliary gym.
Leah Goodwin had a big night as the freshman won the vault with a score of 9.3, the balance beam with a score of 8.4 points and she led a 1-2-3 sweep for the Cardinals in the floor exercise with a score of 9.1 points. Erica Rodgers placed first on the bars with 8.125 points.
In the All-Around competition, Goodwin picked up the top honors with a personal best effort of 34.75 points. Rodgers tallied a season best all-around score of 33.3 points to finish in second place overall.
