BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Following a three game losing streak, the Coldwater High School boys varsity basketball team has put together back-to-back wins. Gage McGuire scored 20 points while Dylan Targgart added 17 points as the Cardinals pulled away in the second half to defeat the Harper Creek Beavers 74-56 Tuesday night.
Damon Beckhusen had nine points, three assists and two steals. Austin Santure also had eight points while Ethan Crabtree grabbed ten rebounds.
The Cardinals are now 14-5 overall and 9-4 in the Interstate 8.
Coldwater won the junior varsity game 57-44, while Harper Creek took the freshman game 52-49 in overtime.
The Coldwater Legg Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team defeated Parma Western of 31-15 Tuesday. Legg was lead in scoring by Brooklyn Kerry with 23 points followed by Eliza Douglas with 8 points.
The Legg 7th grade A team fell to Western 55-24 Tuesday. Legg was led by Jaelah Sloan with 11 points and 5 steals. MacKenzie Scheid added 8 rebounds.
