Lady Cards clinch I-8 with win over Lumen Christi

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater clinched their first outright conference title since 1992 with a convincing 60-19 victory over Jackson Lumen Christi on Senior Night. Tyler Scheid led a balanced attack with 14 points and seven rebounds. Samantha Rodesiler and Carlee Crabtree added nine points and six assists. Emilee Smoker scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds while Autumn Sunderland scored eight. Senior Malorie Rzepka, who’s season ended with an ACL tear in late December, scored the first bucket for the Cardinals thanks to an gracious act of sportsmanship on the part of Lumen Christi Coach Mike Wilson. Coldwater improves their record to 17-1, 13-0 in conference play and looks to complete an undefeated conference season when they host Harper Creek on Tuesday.
