COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater city officials have said for months there is a housing shortage in the city because of local job growth.
But City Manager Keith Baker told the Coldwater City Council on Monday night that new single-family homes have been started on Northshore Drive, Shoshoni Pass and Pillsbury Drive.
He estimated there were eight homes in various stages of construction.
Baker also said in his report to the Council that there are some duplexes being planned as well as other single family homes set to break ground later this spring.
For those who already have a home in Coldwater, Baker said the assessment change notices were sent out this week.
Generally, taxable values went up on average by 2.4% which was the inflationary rate established by the state this year
