COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has been awarded a $100,000 rural grant from the State of Michigan which will be used to conduct preliminary evaluation and needed improvements to the Water Resource Recovery Facility.
It’s one of 16 grants totaling over $1.2 million that are being awarded by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The City of Hillsdale also got a $100,000 which will be used for storm sewer and road improvements to Hallett Street.
The grants are designed to promote the sustainability of land-based industries and support infrastructure that benefits rural communities.
The department got 66 proposals with requests that totaled nearly $5.1 million.
