COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For those of you waiting for the weather to warm up after nearly two brutal months of winter weather, keep waiting.
High temperatures are expected to be between 20 to 25 degrees below normal for most of the week as the polar vortex has reappeared over the upper United States.
The normal high for Coldwater on March 4 is 39 degrees.
Meteorologist Bill Marino at the National Weather Service Station in Grand Rapids says this vortex is not as intense as the last one in late January which dropped wind chills to as low as 40 below.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of west Michigan from tonight through Tuesday night for two to five inches of lake effect snow along with strong winds that will cause blowing and drifting snow.
Warmer weather is expected to move in for the weekend with forecast highs in the 40s.
