COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities says equipment failure on a CBPU owned radial transmission line was the cause of momentary power outages Tuesday.
The Coldwater Fire Department reports the line came down on a transformer in the area of Fillmore and West Garfield just before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. That caused the power to flicker at some locations, but the CBPU says the outages were limited in scope and did not affect the majority of their customer base.
Emergency repairs were completed at around 9:30 p.m. by crews from the CBPU and ITC Transmission.
The CBPU said in a statement that electrical systems were back to normal about two hours later.
An investigation into the cause of the equipment failure is ongoing.
