COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Three criminal cases filed by the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office against a Quincy man who has been charged in connection with numerous BB gun incidents in Coldwater and Quincy were bound over to Branch County Circuit Court Thursday, where a plea hearing has been scheduled for March 25, 2019.
A court spokesperson says 44-year-old Ricky Dale Cox II will enter pleas to two counts of malicious destruction of property between $1,000 and $20,000 as well as a count of breaking and entering a building with intent. Cox waived his preliminary exam on those charges which was scheduled for Thursday.
The other cases filed against Cox were continued in District Court, where he is next scheduled to appear on April 9.
According to court documents, heading into Thursday’s scheduled preliminary exam Cox was facing over a dozen charges, which included six counts of malicious destruction of property, as well as three counts of receiving and concealing stolen property and two counts of second degree home invasion.
Cox was arrested just over a month ago following an investigation by police in Coldwater and Quincy and the Michigan State Police into nearly three dozen reports of BB vandalism which have taken place in recent months.
