COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Debbie Lounds-Bowers was named Citizen of the Year during the 66th Annual Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce Awards dinner at the Dearth Community Center Thursday night.
Award presenter Nick Grabowski from Southern Michigan Bank and Trust said she gives both her time and resources unselfishly to numerous organizations throughout the community.
Lounds-Bowers said she always tried to help people whenever she could.
Meanwhile, Mary Dally was presented with the award for Educator of the Year.
The Business of the Year award was presented to G and W Display Fixtures of Bronson.
Other awards went to Tibbits Young Audiences for Outstanding Community Program and to Judy Cumming for Outstanding Public Servant.
The awards dinner drew its usual full house as nearly 300 attended on Thursday night.
The event also marked the official leadership transition for the chamber board, with Paul Plant from Taylor, Plant and Watkins taking over as President from Quinn White of Southern Michigan Bank and Trust.
