COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Thursday night’s annual Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce awards dinner at the Dearth Community Center marked the official leadership transition for the chamber board, with Paul Plant from Taylor, Plant and Watkins taking over as President from Quinn White of Southern Michigan Bank and Trust.
White said the Chamber had a number of changes during the past year which included the departure of Nicole Steele as Executive Director when she accepted a job out of town.
He said they were fortunate to find current Executive Director Cayden Sparks who White said picked up where Steele left off.
He added another major change for the organization was the decision to return the facilitation of downtown events to the City of Coldwater. White said the decision was based on the goal on reallocating their resources and shifting focus towards member services and business development rather than event planning.
White, who is now serving on the board as the Past Chair, said the Chamber will continue to work with the City during the transition period.
The other Chamber officers for 2019 are Vice Chair Diane Gibbs from ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital and Dannielle McRae from Lilah’s Bridal who will serve as the Second Vice Chair.
