Estle R. Landis, 76, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday,
March 9, 2019 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at
12 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Kevin Landis
officiating. The family will receive
friends, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Estle was born January 29, 1943 in Steuben Co., IN to Harold
& Ruth (Williams) Landis. He married Vicki Truitt on May 10, 1969 in
Coldwater. She preceded him in death on November 16, 2013.
Mr. Landis worked for Quincy Products for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and had a side
business doing auto body work. Estle loved spending time in northern Michigan
and feeding animals, especially the cats. Those who knew him would claim he was
a lover and pusher of food. He was most proud to have received the awards for
the “prettiest hair” and “best athlete” in the 9
th
grade.
Estle is survived by his children Thomas (Scherry) Landis of
Laurens, SC, Anthony (Kristie) Landis, Victor (Brenda) Landis all of Coldwater,
his siblings JoAnn Barnes of Angola, IN, Julie (Dunn) Marteen of Coldwater,
Paul (Debbie) Landis of Quincy, David (Ann Winger) Landis of Coldwater, Martin
(Janet) Landis of Quincy, his granddaughter Alexsandra Devlin of Coldwater, 3
step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and longtime friends, Frank Loose,
J.C. Hassett, Bob & Sue Walker.
In
addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his brother John and Jim
Landis.
