Mary Ellen McIndoe, 84, of Quincy, passed away Saturday,
March 9, 2019 at her home. She was born
September 10, 1934 in Duquoin, IL to Oscar and Helen (Ritter) Booker. Mary married Arthur McIndoe on January 21,
1967 and he preceded her in death in 1991.
She graduated from Oakland University where she received her
Bachelor’s Degree. Mary had been
employed at Glanz and Killian Construction Company and later went to work for Wilson
Portney Pigeon and Roth, PC as a Paralegal.
Mary was a costume designer for the Tibbits Opera House and was a member
of the Branch County Historical Society.
She enjoyed quilting, doing needle point, painting and cooking.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Roberta (Michael
Barbauld) Sarnicki of Quincy and Kimberly (Douglas) Gray of Coldwater; son Douglas
(Linda) McIndoe of Coldwater, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Arthur, Mary was preceded in
death by her parents and brother “Bud” Booker Jr.
A funeral service for
Mary Ellen McIndoe will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at the Eagle
Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Mark Case
officiating. Interment will follow in
Oak Grove Cemetery. Family will receive
friends for visitation on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at
the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Tibbits Opera House or
Promedica Hospice.
