QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – For the second straight year, Quincy’s Will Dunn has been named the Big 8 Boys Basketball Most Valuable Player for the 2018-2019 season. Teammate Caleb McCavit also made the All Conference First Team, along with Hudson Wotta of Bronson and Larson Kever of Union City.
Branch County players who earned Honorable Mention were Matthew Hagaman and Jordan Nelson of Quincy and Brendan Robinson of Union City.
Four Branch County girls basketball players were named to the Big 8 Conference team. They were Kiera Lasky and Keona Salesman of Bronson, Katie Rathbun of Quincy, and Autumn Carpenter of Union City.
Honorable Mention was earned by Meagan Laske of Bronson, Hailey Hinds and Jessica Holcomb of Quincy, and Hope Austin of Union City.
Alana Nelson of Big 8 Champion Springport was named the conferences Most Valuable Player, as she helped the Spartans to an undefeated league record of 14-0.
There were three Branch County members of the Big 8 Conference Competitive Cheerleading All Conference Team. Named All Conference were Alyssa Hurley of Bronson, Mickala Signor of Quincy, and Camryn Thomet of Union City. Honorable Mention was earned by Delia Reyes of Bronson and Kaitlyn Hansen of Union City.
The Big 8 Conference All-Academic Team was honored this week at the Branch Area Careers Center. Branch County members were Ashton Wronikowski, Ryan Wisman, Madelynn Thompson and Joanna Erwin from Bronson, Evan Henning from Quincy and Lillian Bambacht from Union City.
