LAKE PLACID, NY (WTVB) – The winter season isn’t over for a former Coldwater man, who will be competing for a world championship in the bobsled this weekend. Christ Rasmussen and Steven Jacobo of Nevada are representing the United States in the 2019 Para Sport World Championships, which will take place in Lake Placid, New York.
The event will be held over two days from Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31. The winner with the lowest four-run combined time will be declared the winner.
Rasmussen, a 1986 Coldwater High School graduate, is a combat disabled veteran who lost his left leg from the knee down. He has had a successful season on the Para Sport World Cup tour, claiming three bronze medals to finish eighth in overall rank. Jacobo finished the season ranked 10th overall, and he tied Rasmussen for bronze in an early season World Cup.
