BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The weather forecast calling for showers over the next few days is welcome news for local firefighters.
As usual in late March after the snow melts and the ground dries out, fire crews have to deal with grass fires.
Branch County fire crews were called to at least three grass fires that were reported within a couple of hours Wednesday.
Bronson firefighters were called to the area of Athens and Cline Roads at about 2:45 p.m..
Quincy firefighters responded to a grass fire in the 1200 block of Fisher Road about a half hour later.
Four departments had to be called in for a grass fire which broke out in the 1100 block of Lester Road at about 4:15 p.m.. A shed was destroyed by the spreading flames.
Lakeland, Quincy, Coldwater and Fremont, Indiana responded.
