ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A house fire in Angola Wednesday night is being blamed on a cat knocking over a candle.
The fire at 1208 West Mill Street was reported at about 8:20 p.m.. It took firefighters about 12 minutes to get the flames under control.
A man was taken to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital for observation due to smoke inhalation. He was treated and released.
Firefighters were told that there was a dog still in the residence when they arrived. After they found the dog, it was given oxygen and taken to a local veterinarian. The condition of the dog is unknown.
Other family pets were removed from the residence and given to the family.
