CONSTANTINE, MI (WTVB) – Four persons were injured Wednesday afternoon in a head on crash northeast of Constantine.
Michigan State Police at the Marshall Post say intoxicants are suspected as a possible contributing factor and the lack of seat belt usage is believed to have contributed to the severity of some of the injuries.
Troopers say the accident happened at about 4:40 p.m. on Banker Road just east of Sevison Road when a westbound Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was being driven by a 48-year-old man from Burr Oak collided with a Ford Ranger that was driven by a 29-year-old Centreville man.
The two drivers along with a 46-year-old man from Three Rivers and a 43-year-old woman from Sturgis were transported to area hospitals, some with significant injuries.
The names were not released by the State Police who are still investigating the accident.
