COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An offer has been made to buy a vacant lot at 84 East Pierce which was acquired by the City of Coldwater through the state’s tax foreclosure program.
The proposed purchase agreement is scheduled to come before the Coldwater City Council on Monday night.
A couple who lives across the street has offered to purchase the vacant lot for $1,500. City Attorney Megan Angell says in her letter to the Council that the offer is consistent with the prices the City has sold other lots to neighboring property owners.
A residence used to be on the lot before it was demolished in late 2018.
Under terms of the City Charter, the offer has to be tabled for 30 days. During this period of time, other bids can be submitted.
The Council will not be able to take formal action on the offer until the 30 day period expires.
