BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A group of soccer supporters are scheduled to appear before the Bronson School Board Monday night as they are trying to establish soccer programs for boys and girls at Bronson High School.
The group has been raising funds in recent months and bringing awareness to their efforts through social media. T-shirts and hoodies with their slogan “Bring it to Bronson” have been sold since last fall. Other fund raising efforts have included movie nights and dinners.
Bronson soccer supporters say on their Facebook page that over $1,000 has been raised. The Bronson branch of Sturgis Bank and Trust has set up an account for the program.
They told the Sturgis Journal in a Friday article that it’s hoped the soccer programs can start on a club level and they are not going to be asking for start up money from the board.
Monday’s Bronson School Board meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the high school library.
